If i open video only folder (MP4) and work with it like double click some videos it opens in external player close external player open next video thumbnail by double clicking and so on somewhere around opening 3rd or 4th video XnViewMP hangs up and i have to terminate the process. This happened 5 times so must be easy to reproduce.

This happens around when opening folder with only 8 videos.

Same here in v1.6.3. Crash after viewing first mp4 with external viewer VLCplayer. Going back to v1.6.1 and same thing works fine.

I can confirm this.
The stability of the recent version(s) is terrible and it seems to have something to do with video thumbnails.
I see a lot of annoying freezes on different occasions mostly when selecting one or more video thumbnails.
I have tried to reproduce with debug on but then it does not happen. So I cannot tell which process is the faulty one.

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.6.4. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

Fixed in 1.6.4 no more crash on video file manipulation
