Question about "keep original file when encoded result is larger"

Hi all,

I'm so happy I found this very very useful tool. Tried Caesium and RIOT before but must admit, the options that XnConvert offers, are just incredible and so useful. Thanks for creating it!

I have two questions:
1) Just an informative question, I couldnt find on the forum or in the Docs:
The "face" icon in the "Input" screen, what exaclty does it mean? That XnConvert detected a face? Or that it is embedded in the MetaData of the picture!?

I marked a few examples: Sometimes my face was clearly visible and the icon is listed. In the 3rd row, the icon is not there (marked yellow) even though in the pictures we clearly look into the camera. The pictures come from an IPhone 11 - is it IPhone metadata?

2. I use these output options:
Means: I want to overwrite all originals, keep all metadata and original file dates, but ONLY overwrite in case the new file got shrinked (smaller filesize). For me, the log and alos the output folder (I kept a backup of the original folder) suggests, it also overwrites in case the new file got bigger.

My expectation was: XnConvert would compress into a jpg File (stored somewhere in Temp directory), determine if there was a filesize reduction, and only in case "yes" -> Overwrite the original.

Can you help me here?
Thanks soooooo much!

Metadata is detected

In your case, it will not work as expected. if source & destination is the same, the option will do nothing. I need to change that...

Thanks so much for your quick response.

W.r.t. 1) Yes, thought so. But which one exactly? I wasnt able to identify an EXIF / IPC entry which could be a hint to a person/face?

W.r.t. 2): That would be really great. Or at least make the checkbox grayed out :)
