crash on quick ESC press after deletion while switching to another image

to reproduce:
0. have 2 images in folder
1. open any image in Viewer via double-click in win file explorer
2. press Del to delete image
- press Return/Enter to confirm
3. instantaneously press ESC
app will crash

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.8.1. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
