Currently using version 1.5.0

In the IPTC Editor, when I click the right-facing triangle at the extreme right end of each field, I get three menus, "Insert", "Insert From" and "Copy Into".

Insert From and Copy Into have always worked fine.

However, when I attempt to use the "Insert" menu, no matter what I choose, instead of getting that chosen text, I only ever get {embedded comment} or {XP Comment} or whatever, always just the { } containing whatever choice I have made.

Am I doing something wrong ?

Is there a trick to making this work ?

I have installed the latest version and my results are the same.

No matter what I choose from the "Insert" menu, I only ever get my choice in brackets without getting the actual text.

For example, I choose XP:Comment and I get {XP:Comment}, not the text of the actual XP Comment

yes, it's normal. The field will be replaced when writing.

I don't quite understand.

{XP:Comment} is shown, but when you write your IPTC, you'll have the correct value

Thanks; that works.

Now, all the other values I have tested work as you described, except for

Insert > EXIF-Image > User comment

When I choose "User comment", I get nothing.

I was hoping that would be Embedded Comment from Edit Comment, but obviously it is not and I cannot find Embedded Comment as a choice in that menu; nor, can I figure out just what "User comment" is.
