Button with feedback if it is activated

Hello,
Problem:
i use a lot of time the funktion "show all pictures at subfolders ",
but the button is only once useable, after i change the folder the funktion is disabled.
wish:
1. is it possible to make the button as shifter (deselect by myself)
proposal: make the button (funktion) as a locked-shifter (select / deselect)
2. at a lot of buttons i can't see if it is activated.
proposal: if a button is pressed mark is with an "aktive-indiacator" e.g. with a green line
