Batch Convert option Keep Parent Folder

What's the purpose of the option "Keep Parent Folder" in the Output tab?
I searched this forum as well as the Wiki but didn't found an answer

it's to keep subfolder structure

Hmmm I made some trials to fully understand. I think the purpose is to save the processed files into a new folder having the same name as the original (need to be done either on another volume or in another folder).
Structure where are stored source files:
C:\My Images\Travels\ (contains some files as well)
..........................\2022 Spain
..........................\2023 Croatia
..........................\2021 Greece
..........................\2020 France
Output to another folder named Processed, with option "Keep Parent Folder" ticked
C:\My Images\Processed\Travels\ (contains some processed files as well)
.......................................\2022 Spain
.......................................\2023 Croatia
.......................................\2021 Greece
.......................................\2020 France
Output to another folder named Processed, with option "Keep Parent Folder" unticked
C:\My Images\Processed\ (contains some processed files as well)
.............................\2022 Spain
