1.7.0 : GPS tab remains in preview panel while no gps coordinate in image

Post by LaurentG »

XnView: MP 1.7.0 - 64 bit
OS: Windows 10 64bit

Bug described hereafter exist in rev 1.7.0 but DIDN't exist in rev 1.6.2
I don't know for intermediate rev, 16.3, 1.6.4 and 1.6.5

GPS tab remains displayed while it shouldn't

When browsing with XnViewMP, the GPS tab appears only if the selected image contains gps coordinates. This is OK.
But once such an image has been selected (ad then the tab is appeared), selection of another image without gps coordinates DO NOT remove the GPS tab, that remains centered on the same location than the one corresponing to the latest image with coordinates, including the "mark" showing position of latest image.

This is not a "dramatic" bug, but has the counter productive effect to let user think that the new image is also already geotagged at the same place than previous one. AT LEAST, the mark sould not be present any more

To reproduce:
1. Open XnviewMP on a folder containing both images with gps coordinates, and images without.
2. Select one of the images without gps data : The tab "GPS" is not displayed in preview pane (this is OK)
3. Select one of the images containing gps data : The tab "GPS" is added. If we open it, map is displayed with a mark at image's position (this is also OK)
4. Select another image WITHOUT gps data : The "GPS" tab do NOT disappear, and more over, if we click on it, content is the same than with previous image, ie. a map with a mark at previous image's position.

I don't know if the GPS tab should disappear or not (I think it should, as it was the case in previous verions of XNViewMP, but it can be discussed), but if tab remains present, AT LEAST the mark MUST disappear.

Take note that this erroneous behaviour does NOT occur with other tabs : eg. if some images contain XMP data, and some do not have, "XMP" tab appears when an image including such data is selected, and disappear when an image without such data is selected.
