I have just discovered XnViewMP and like it alot. It solves serveral problems for me.

However, I am working with someone who is very concerned about proprietary information leaving our site, and the generation of a map image with a pin for the image location raises some questions.

1. How is the map generation done?
2. Can this feature be disabled if we choose?
3. What other information leaves the user's computer when viewing an image?

the gps coordinates is used to get map from google map

you can remove plugins\geoservices folder
