XnView Software

For many years now, I have been using the IPTC "Title" field to label my photos, because this is a field often displayed in viewers (whether on websites or installed locally). In XnView, this field is referred to by the less intuitive name "Object name" and is relegated to the last, "Source" tab of the IPTC editing dialog, near the bottom. There are older requests which would serve my needs:
Metadata - merge all Edit dialogs into single one
IPTC/XMP Metadata with user-defined Tab
but they sound like a lot of work. I would be happy if:

• "Object name" were renamed "Title" in the XnView dialog "Edit IPTC-IIM"
• The field were moved to the first, "Caption" tab of the dialog (together with the other popular fields, "Caption" and "Headline").

which presumably would be a lot easier.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.8.1. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

I'm using 1.8.1, the Windows port
I've been looking for half an hour and I still don't see it. "Title" (which shows up as Document Title in other GUI apps capable of editing IPTC tags) I do see. How is the tag labelled, if it indeed IS there.

The irony is, three years ago, I was able to edit and display Object Name in the Ubuntu/Kubuntu versions of MP. Why I can't find it in a Newer version for Windows is a head-scratcher.

Edit: And I'm sorry, but Byline Title in the Credits tab is not the same thing. Other GUI apps do not recognise it as Object Name.

I found it at the bottom of the first pane. YMMV.

First pane of "Edit IPTC" or "Edit XMP"? Where did you find Object Name, how was it labelled, and was/is it an editable tag in MP?

Sorry, my bad. In XnView MP 1.8.2 it's at the top of the first ("Caption") tab of the "Edit IPTC" dialog (Ctrl-I in "View" mode). The field name is "Document title".
