Export preview - add JPEG-LI

I've removed the old JPEG from the save as types, to leave only JPEG-LI.

* It would be handy to have a JPEG-LI preview option under File - Export...

Given the great usefulness of this and the fact that it is basically the same as the JPEG hopefully this would be a relatively trivial thing.

IMHO in Export will be better change turbo-jpeg on jpegli.

however, I would go further and remove dead/dying/unnecessary_for_export formats:
bmp
jpeg-2000
jpeg-xl
jpeg-xr
pcx
tga

leaving there only few formats (eg Photoshop has only gif, png, jpg in Export dialog):
avif
jpeg
png
tiff - maybe remove it as well
webp

Want to save into other format? - use "Save as..."

Jpeg XL is not unnecessary format :D
It is future format, which replace jpg, png, gif, webp, tiff on very wide fields industrially. Google may try to stop jxl in browsers but even here it will appearance.
You will see...

Yes, I wouldn't remove those lossy-enabled formats. In everyday usage they have a small edge in terms of result although they are slower and for many purposes the speed of some of them (e.g. JPEG2000) may be a real block to their usage - but for some it is not, and non-everyday usages may prefer them.
I don't have a problem with less-used formats being there, or ones that are part of historical interest for those who love format history, but perhaps at some point they could be put in a lesser priority position.

:bugconfirmed: Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

The export dialog is very important for standard picture formats for internet websites and testing new formats and their settings.

So the following formats are very important for me.

- JPEGLI encoder
- AVIF
- HEIC/HEIF
- WEBP
- PNG
- GIF

---

Unimportant formats for export dialog:
- BMP
- TIFF
- PCX
- TGA

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.8.1. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

I get a strange colour effect for the preview when choosing JPEG-LI (I tried different settings but that didn't make any difference), which doesn't happen when that is not ticked, however the actual export is okay.
Screenshot of export preview problem and a sample file causing it are attached.

I'm unable to reproduce with the attached file, but it seems that you use a higher image

I did the original settings screenshot with a larger image but the shrunk image I attached also does it for me (as do all my photos). I've just checked a random photo from the web too by someone else and that also does it.

What is interesting is that the left-hand preview pane is normal and the right-hand pane is colour-effected, and only for JPEG-LI, yet opening the resulting JPEG-LI is normal, all of which suggests there's something that could be resolved on the coding side, how the problem is being triggered I couldn't helpfully guess. It will be interesting to learn what % of people are encountering this.

To me it looks like Jpeg with activated XYB color profile at encoding, and no XYB color profile processing in the preview window.

Therefore XYB should be only used if a program utilize color profile processing, because without this all JPEG with XYB color profile will be displayed in false colors.

I wrote it in other post — go to settings and switch ON ICC profiles.

Yeah, that's helpful for people who use programs that have color profile processing included, like XnView,
but when you create images for other people, people view them with programs you don't know,
it's better not to use XYB color profile, because there are a lot of image viewing apps and programs without proper color profile processing out there, right now.

I can confirm that switching on "ICC profile for monitor" seems to fix the export container appearance. I'll research a bit about the matter if I can.

However from the fact that it only happens on the export preview container for JPEG-LI, and does it for all files on the web - showing no discolouring in the "original" preview, nor when previewing JPEG, nor when opening the jpeg-li resulting from exporting with the miscoloured preview, purely that export preview container, it seems to me at heart there's somehow a programmatic oversight for the preview container somewhere.
