How to open Browser directly in special system folder My Doc

Hi. :D
First of all, forgive my bad English.
I began to test this software this morning, and it will be my new images viewer.
Thanks for this great program.
But, I have a doubt, after looking in the newsgroup and my searches have no results.
I would like to know if I can open the program in the browser mode and the folder of my choice for starting would be selected like in the Windows Explorer.
My start folder is “D:\Meus documentos\Minhas imagens\” (corresponding to D:\My documents\My Pictures\), and when I open the browser the hole tree was opened (My computer\Local disk D:\ My documents\My Pictures\), example:

Code: Select all

(1) http://img294.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pic17wy.png
But, in the Windows Explorer I can open any folder inside “My documents” from the special system folder showed in the tree pane, as I can see exactly the same way in the XnView, for example:

Code: Select all

(2) http://img66.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pic28bg.png
Even when I check the option “Show Desktop in Folder tree”, every time that I open the browser, the program don’t collapsed “My computer”, and open only (and directly the special system folder) “My documents\My Pictures\”.
Is there anything that I can change to make things smoother like in Windows Explorer style?
All that I have is inside “My documents” folder, so I wouldn’t like to open “My computer” and all other HDD and folder. The second image posted sounds better to me.

Thanks in advanced,
Leandro.

:) Hello !
First of all, forgive my bad English. …
- I saw worse… 8)
- Aside, a pratical tip prior : to show images here, simply use the [ img ] image-address [ /img ] marker from the edition-box (I added spaces here to disable the marker)… So, the pics are displayed either fully directly from a classic server, or as a linked thumb-nail from image-hosts. Write the reference (1)… etc outside the marker. The "Code" marker deactivates the link !

- About your problem : "My Documents" is a virtual folder, though it's a real one too; however, this is planned in Windows for Windows, and external programmes have some issues to handle it in the same way than Win Explorer, some handles are not possible…

- Maybe Pierre could improve this, but handling the virtual folders is always ticklish.

 Kind regards,
Claude

@ Clo,

Thanks very much for the answer! :D
And for the tip!
Well, I’ll wait to see if someday this functionality will be available in XnView, because, as I already said, this great program is now my favorite image viewer.
At despite that function, I loved this software.
Sorry my English again. I’m Brazilian and Babelfish doesn’t help me too much (3 hours to write a single post). Maybe, it is time to learn another language…

I’ll be praying for Pierre read this topic, and I’ll be dreaming with this “virtual folder” function. :(

Thanks again,
Leandro.

I'll alert---

:) Hello !
Thanks very much for the answer! :D
And for the tip!
- You are welcome !
I’m Brazilian and Babelfish doesn’t help me too much … Maybe, it is time to learn another language… ;)
- These kinds of automatic translations produce a pretty gibberish ! I avoid to use and especially to read the results (the worst is into French), because I don't wish to die prematurely by a huge laugh-crisis ! :P
- Indeed, a "wildcard" language is handy… But you could learn French too, maybe easier for you, though astonishingly English is Latin-based by ~70% !
- The snag is “only” the remaining 30 % and the lunacy of this illogical and confusing (O ! A lot !) language…
I’ll be praying for Pierre read this topic, and I’ll be dreaming with this “virtual folder” function. :(
- I'll ask him for he gives a glance here ;) But normally, he reads the most threads on this forum.

 Kind regards,
Claude
