Editing/Saving preferences not saved

I installed the newest version of Xnview in order to solve another issue, but in doing so I ran into a bug where it will not save my preferences no matter what I do.
When I modify a file and close it, it asks if i want to save it, and I click "yes" as well as "do not ask again". But this pop up happens every time regardless. I tried deleting my config file, and uninstalling and reinstalling and it did not fix it.
