How to install on Fedora Linux 40? (or flatpak workarounds?)

Hello, after installing XnView as a flatpak through Fedora's 'Discover" appstore i was unable to browse folders on my ntfs drives. Opening any such file makes a copy of said file on the OS drive, making switching between files in a folder as intended impossible. From what i gather this is because flatpaks are sandboxed, and downloading the installers for linux is recommended.

However, i downloaded the .tgz and the appimage, and i can't figure out how to install them, nor find instructions to do so.

Any help on making either of the versions work would be greatly appreciated.
P.S.: Please keep in mind i'm very new to Linux and especially Fedora.

Found a solution already, and leaving it here for the next fedora newbie to find.

Just install the flatpak through Discover, then scroll all the way down to find a button to "Configure permissions" and add a rule of: /mnt/ read/write
