XnviewMP 1.82 - Export dialog - detection of color depth

I often use XnViewMP to edit and save screenshots or simple web graphics with a small color range (< 256 different colors).
In most cases I convert the color depth first in XnViewMP program window, to test the quality.
My goal is to optimize the final picture file size to a maximum.
So I usually use the export dialog for best results in compression.
My pictures have a color depth of 8 bit (<256 colors).
In the export dialog the program use 16M colors by default for PNG, WEBP, etc.
Is it possible, that XnViewMP automatically set the color range in the export dialog?
It will be a nice and a great time saver, if XnviewMP checks the current color depth of the picture for saving.
If the current color depth of the picture is <=256 colors, 256 colors setting will be perfect.
If the picture has more than 256 colors, 16M (16 mio colors) setting is the best choice.
