Is there a way to open in the tabs multiple pictures at once? I tried the slideshow but that doesn't allow much control over the pictures and I much prefer the pictures in the tabs.

As it is if I wanted to open multiple pictures I have to go through all my folders and open them manually.

In XnView Classic, or XnView MP?

In XnView MP, in the the browser or viewer Help > About > Command line tab has an option to launch XnView MP with an image open a tab, if that might provide a solution you could test whether multiple files can be opened in tabs that way...

use XnView MP
set ☑ Allow only one instance (Settings > General > General tab)

but there is an issue

I figured it out. I had been trying to figure out what you guys suggested but I found out I can give a file in a folder a rating, select only that rating in the tab while in that folder (so lets say I have 10 level 2 pictures in a folder), then select all files (just the 10 that have a high enough rating to be shown), then left click and select "open all selected" and all the pictures I sorted by rating will open.
