I want the rating to be written directly into the RAW file (Sony RAW), without any sidecar file.
I have the options set in the metadata menu, but writing the rating directly to the file only works for JPEG, not for RAW files.

It works with the sidecar, but I don't want to deal with with side car file if it can be avoided.

Is this a bug or a feature

As far as I know, most photographers are strictly avoiding writing anything to raw files, dng format being an exception. I would not want to do this by accident.
