problems with accents

I can't rename a file using accents like á ã é e etc... The "ç" works
Setting encoding to UTF-8 does not solve the problem (Tools, Settings...)
Changing the language, changing the PC locale, none of that works.

Typing an accent is as if the keyboard were locked, nothing happens. It is as if the field rejects that type of character.
I want to point out that this does not happen with hundreds of programs, it only happens with xnview in all these years since version 0.93.1
If I write the word in another program, I can paste it into xnview. But in it, I can't write the accents.

Running from tgz or AppImage or installed, the problem is the same
I use the BR keyboard, Brazilian Portuguese
I usually use the tgz version, where I unzip and run it from the folder itself.

Thanks for any help that can solve the problem

The problem occurs on Slackware 15, Debian 12, Arch Linux and OpenSUSE Leap.
Just to let you know, this is not a QT problem, as I have QT applications on all the above distributions.
It is very simple to reproduce, just configure the keyboard to Brazilian Portuguese which uses accents and try to write any accent like á é ó ã õ

I press the accent and then press the letter key. Pressing any key on the keyboard works, pressing an accent is like the key being locked.
When pressing any accent in any text box they are completely ignored, that is, they appear to be blocked. The 4 accents below are blocked from typing
