How can I scan with the MAC version
I can't find an icon like in XnViewMP for scanning

In Linux we scan using the SANE front end, and if you search online for something like 'mac scan sane' you should find that it can also be used on a Mac.
For example, this link:
TWAIN SANE for Mac...
There may possibly be other useful search results.

Thanks for your help...
My solution now:
Many years ago I had bought a license of VueScan.
I had forgotten about it because I always worked with XnView.
Now I have downloaded the Mac version of VueScan and entered XnView here as the viewer.
Works very well
