Hi there. I have what I think is a very simple requirement. I want to add tag words to photos. The photos are of complex engineering parts of a steam locomotive, so the tag words will need to be individually typed by hand. I may need to add up to five tags to some photos. If possible I would like to be able to add tags with multiple words in them. I have around 11,000 photos to tag so I need a really quick way of doing it. Ideally, I want to be able to view all the thumbnails in a folder and then step through each thumbnail and with a single click, whilst viewing the content in the thumbnail, add the tag words, before moving to the next thumbnail. The tags need to be in the ‘Tags’ field that is visible and searchable in Windows Explorer. I have tried using multiple applications to carry out this apparently simple task, but so far with no luck. I am hoping that it is possible to do using XnView MP, but I have been unable to work out how. I find all the views confusing, so I will need very simple steps to set up the view I need and lead me through the process. I do hope that someone can help me!

What is usually called a 'tag' most often refers to 'keywords'.
In Xnviewmp, the word “tag” refers only to the marking of photos with a tick. Let's use the term “keyword”.

Xnviewmp provides a handy keyword management tool called “Categories”.
