Show one not four thumbnails on all folders

In my browser, every folder has 4 tiny thumbnails on it. I can't find a setting to change it to just one large thumbnail. I looked for an answer, but that particular option doesn't show up in Tools > Settings > Thumbnails > Misc. There is no Misc in there.
Using XnView MP 1.8.8.

OK, so I found the setting that theoretically turns off the "show 4 thumbnails" thing..... but oddly, it still shows 4 thumbnails on all the folders. The setting does nothing. Any ideas?
Running v. 1.8.8 64bit

I had this problem, too.
If you active the 4 thumbnails in settings and browse your folders, XnViewMP will create 4 thumbnails for every folder and save them in the thumbnail cache. If you then switch to 1 thumbnail for folders, XnViewMP will use the already saved thumbnails from cache and will show you 4 thumbnails for the folders again! You will change this behaviour, if you completly delete your whole cache. If you already have browsed your whole picture archive, then there is an easier way to change it. You can mark the folders with 4 thumbnails and rebuild the thumbnails. You must open the view menu and choose rebuild thumbnails.
