On the toolbar, immediately to the right of the two blue arrows which select the previous and next file, you should have two smaller outline arrows which can be used to step through the pages of a multipage.

Yes, I see them, but they are just grey and have no effect.

I've just loaded a multipage test file and had a look, and those arrows should become coloured as you step through the pages.
Note that if you plan to edit the images in a multipage file, it is necessary to save the changes made to a page before stepping to another page, otherwise the changes made will be lost; when a multipage file has many pages resaving the whole file can be slow.
My test file attached.

Hi @cday
- Thank You for the example file. Yes, that works for me also as You described.
- So I guess, I have to specify my description of the problem: It seems the problem is not multi-page in general but multi-page in pdf file-format. And I found, that in many cases XnView seems to be unable to open a pdf-file at all.
best regards

Are you able to post an example multipage PDF file that can't be opened?
And I found, that in many cases XnView seems to be unable to open a pdf-file at all.
Problems opening PDF files are generally related to the required third-party software Ghostcript, but if some PDFs open that seems unlikely in this case: again, can you post an example file?

Please find attached a 2 pages file, which cannot be opened with XnView.
May be I had to follow Your point with the Ghostscript idea?? What do I have to do?

Confirmed that the provided file, which opens normally in multiple other PDF software's, doesn't open in XnView MP...
Over the years there have occasionally been other PDF files which inexplicably can't be opened in XnView software, so I am starting a new bug thread for that. TBD
