No, it does not change it for me. Here are some screenshots. By the way, I am still using an M2 Pro 12/19 Mac, MacOS 15.5.
EXIF info before I change it:
Preparing to edit the EXIF:
I then clicked on Apply and it indicated that it was writing the data.
Displaying the EXIF info after I changed it:
This is just an experiment. Of course, for this HIF photo I do not actually want to change the EXIF.

Okay, I did that. In Edit Metadata I clicked on Clear all. Then I added only EXIF:Make and set it to Canon. But when I look at the photo in the full view the EXIF still says SONY ILCE-6700.

In the viewer I tried reload, but it still shows Sony.

I did CMD+R in the browser, but it didn't seem to do anything. I then opened the photo into the viewer again and it still shows Sony.
