Add folder and add file options don't work

Hi,
I installed the last Windows version of XnView and the add folder and add file options don't work.
I can choose folder, but the open button does nothing, I receive the unchanged empty / original screen.
In case of the images, I cannot see any image in the selected folder, however there are images (jpg) in it.
Please be so kind and help me, what is wrong?
It would be important to use this great software.
