Separate configuration and database on each of various USB drives?

Hi - I'm running XnViewMP 1.9.2 on MacOS with M1 chip
I would like a separate configuration and database and thumbnails on each of various USB drives to keep client photos separate from family photos.
Q1 What if I made a “xnviewmp” folder on each USB with copies of the following from the defaults at /Users/user/.config/xnviewmp folder:
  • autocorrect.txt
    bookmark.ini
    default.bar
    default.keys
    user.keys
    search.ini
    Thumb.db
    XnView.db
and xnview.ini but renamed it xnviewUSB.ini
Q2 What entries would I need to edit in xnviewUSB.ini to point the app to the local USB files, rather than the defaults at .config/xnviewmp folder?

Q3 Finally, can I start up xnviewmp with the command line argument -ini xnviewUSB.ini to get each session to reflect the customizations unique to each USB drive?

Thanks for any suggestions!

If you use different .ini on different folder, you need to start it like that.

Ok, thanks for confirm. So, back to Q2 - if I start the app pointing to the unique folder xnviewUSB.ini, do I need to edit any entries in that .ini to point the app to the local USB files (.db, .keys etc), rather than the defaults at .config/xnviewmp folder?

Thanks!

You can start XnView with defaults, change location of files in settings>Integration, and copy .ini .db ... in the correct folder
