1.9.2: Read Ahead does not seem to be working for HEIC

Hello,

I have Read Ahead next image enabled and am mainly viewing .HEIC images which are quite large, over 8000 pixels wide, 15-18MB in size.
I assume that Read Ahead should immediately display the next image if it is cached.

However, it doesn't seem to work that way.
I open the first image, wait even 1 minute, then move to the next image using the mouse wheel and each time I have to wait 2-3 seconds for the next image to show.

I'm using Windows x64 version of XnView 1.9.2.

Hi,

I can't reproduce it either now :)

Looks like the slowness was caused by the thumbnails being regenerated in the background.
As they are ready now, I confirm, that the "next" image is shown immediately.

I'm sorry for false alarm :)

Ok, seems like I have this problem on one system.

But it's not files related, as when I copied the entire folder of 120 files to another computer, the problem was not there.

Is it possible that the size of Thumbs.db makes this difference?
On the "slow" system Thumbs.db has 250GB.
