XnView Software

Since updating to version 1.9.4, every time I turn on my computer (Win11) and open XnView MP, it takes a long time to load the preview. For example, 5,000 images takes 4 minutes; 3,000 folders takes 9 minutes?!

I tried using version 1.9.3 for the same comparison, and both HDD and SSD load in just 10 seconds.

Is this related to the metadata update or a problem with the new version?

The metadata update add a little delay only the first time...
The problem is only after a startup of system?

It took me four hours to update the metadata.

This issue occurs every time I start my computer or reboot my system. Now, every time I access a folder or exit a folder, Xnview MP takes a long time to load and preview.

Strangely, I have to wait for the program to run for a while before the loading speed returns to normal.

what is the filesize of xnview.db?

The xnview.db file is approximately 3.5Gb.

Xnview MP's CPU load is approximately 6% when loading previews.

and if you use XnView 1.9.3, no problem?

Unless version v1.9.4 changes the way the database is searched, it is still more efficient to use the old version v1.9.3. I hope that your next new version will improve it. Thank you for your attention.

I've noticed that after launching v1.9.4, each time I access a folder, it takes a long time to load the first time, but subsequent accesses are normal.

v1.9.5 doesn't have this issue yet, and its speed is close to v1.9.3.

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.9.5. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
