some of my pictures aren't displayed /both browser and viewer/. for example, i've got 18 jpg's (410x440, about 200kb each) in a directory and xnview behaves like there are just 7 pictures. when loading thumbnails, it shows them all, but then they disappear /all modes/. it's not random for some reason...

?

Are some of the images misnamed? GIFs wrongly named JPG can disappear after thumbnails are created.
You can disable scan headers and look at them in details view to check this.

Something has changed (fixed?) in v.1.82rc.
Options>Read>[ ]'Ignore Read errors' now works.
Now incompletely downloaded jpg might disappear after thumbnails are renderered (they don't in v.1.80.3 when just using Xnview for only images).
By default in v.1.82rc3, these incomplete downloads look like they are considered as "all other files" under items displayed. So then they would not disappear according to "ignore read errors" setting. Maybe this is a problem. I am not sure.
