Mouse Wheel "Opens" Files

Whenever I scroll the mouse wheel in the file browser, XNView opens the file (using whatever program is associated with it -- which usually happens to be XNView), as well as moves on to the next image in the file list.

Are you sure that you don't press a middle mouse button?

Try this:
Options > General > Switching modes > Use middle... > Do nothing.

That setting doesn't affect the File Browser.

Also, I would rather not have to turn off the button completely.

Further testing: I disabled the middle mouse-button (but not the wheel) in Control Panel, and the problem persists.

Really strange, try to rename xnview.ini file (e.g. to xnview.ini.1), but close xnview first.

I deleted the XnView directory and installed it again, but no luck.
I also tried installing a different mouse, but it didn't make a difference.
