Display contents of m-p TIFF & ICL as thumb-nails

:) Hello !

• A good pen-friend (programmer and author of the TotalSQX packer plugin for Total Commander), asked me for know if the display of images contained in a multi-page TIFF might be already possible or planned as a board of thumb-nails.

• His need was to be able to select i.e. some pictures among the thumb-nail board, then to ask for print the selection.

• Obviously, the reply is “No” currently, since the images can be viewed one by one only in “View”mode…

• This reminded me that I've requested to you (ages ago…) the same feature for ICLs, because it should be much more comfortable to get an overview of all icon-images inside…

• Maybe it's easier to do for M-P TIFF first ?

• For ICL, this is possible certainly, since I had such a feature in an old ß of UniView; unfortunately the related codes have been lost, hence not restored in the current version (the development is sleeping for a looong while…)

Image In brief :

1. The capability to display M-P TIFF and ICLs as thumb-nails,

2. The possibility to select some thumb-nails - or the whole content - and to print that selection.

• What do you think ? Image

 Kind regards,
Claude

Yes, it's possible, but not a important feature :-)

It's your opinion and I respect it, but for those who use them it can be very useful... Then, important even if they are a relative minority of xnView users...
- It could be enhanced to *.DCX and *.ICO (multi-page / frame) too, so getting more interesting for more users
Please don't oblige them to search the solution @ the competitors :|
- Just push it a bit up in your "Wish List"…

Damn I came here from a google search because I was wondering if XnView supported ICLs.

I can understand how you must have a great big todo list, so don't worry about this for now. You have made an amazing app that even beats all of the non freeware viewers that I have tried, truely amazing!

For everybody who is wondering how to view these files. IrfanView, while not as good an image viewer, supports this file format and is freeware too. Just remember to come back to XnView for your regular images.

:) Hello Pierre !

- Indeed, XnView supports iCL, mais it is not as so "comfortable" and fast as to get them as a board of thumbnails, having so an overview of the whole content, much easier to localize¦choose a needed icon…

It does? *Goes and checks* Hmmm right you are, it even has the info in the help file on it. I could have sworn I checked, but I guess not.

Sorry.

Notch another one up for XnView.

Feel free to delete my last post if you wish so that nobody becomes misinformed by it.
