Thumbnail view in File list (from Slide Show dialog). It could be added also to other dialogs, e.g. Batch Convert...

Why stopping there and not adding all file display modes to File list...? OK, it was a joke.
I think the only usable modification here could be adding mode like List or Details, but with tiny thumbnails instead of standard icons. That would enable manipulating file list while having overview of files contents.
