Move gives "Problem(filename)"

Version 1.82.2, (Alt-M) Move to folder no longer works. Gives uninformative error message. Can still do Copy then Delete, so seems to be the Move command itself, not file or directory problems.

I'm the O.P.
Is there a "known solution"?

I have problem to! I have system Windows98SE (czech version with last servicepack) and version XnView 1.82.2. When I move picture from directory into another directory, using right-content menu or ALT+M hotkeys, XnView send error message "Problem (...filename...)". This windows title is empty. Version XnView 1.82 beta 3 is Ok and files moved it!

Hello everyone!
I just discovered your nice xnview
it looks so great that I will give it a deep trial
(specialy because I have 2000 gif palette reduction to make

)
But the newbie has a problem: the move of an image with the mouse from one folder to another were it is asked to replace a file gives an 'uninformative error message' as quoted above
using win 98 se and xnview 1.82.4
Did I miss/mess up something?

How do you make the move? Drag&Drop from icon view to folder view?

Yes...
but there is something even more funny
In order to answer your question I tried to reproduce the error
I have 2 hard disks C: and D:
If I drag and drop from D:\... to C:\... the replacement works
but if I drag and drop from C:\... to C:\... it gives the error????!!!!
Very strange and puzzling
Just checked, from D:\ to D:\... same error
Annoying, because otherwise I do like your work a lot

ok got it
between two different drives the drag&drop defaults to a copy
on the same drive, it defaults to a move
if I force a copy on the same drive the copy with remplace works
so the problem is linked to the move operation 'only'
so until the problem is fixed there is a turn around to still have the benefit of the remplace dialog: keep doing copy and replace and then delete the source images
Conclusion I am going to drop my ancient acdsee32 for the more powerfull xnview
PS: version installed is the 'XnView v1.82.4 version Complete (Plugins & NConvert) Setup (Toutes langues) (6.8Mb)'
