crashes during batch convert

Hello,

I'm using XnView 1.82.2 on WinXP SP2. I am trying to apply "auto levels" function on a set of pictures using batch convert. I select the source folder, specify the output folder and under "Transformations" tab, I choose "auto levels". Right after clicking "GO", the program crashes with a Windows error message "XnView for Windows 9x/NT/2000/Me/Xp has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

It is a bit of disappointment for me, because the auto levels function works great on individual pictures.

Thank you in advance for your reply!

I've just tried with JPG images (2200 x 1700 pixels) and had no problems.

What kind of images do you convert (format, size, ...)? How many images do you convert? Do you apply other transformations or is "Auto level" the only one?

Hello Helmut,

thank you for your reply. The "auto levels" function is the only transformation I am using. The folder contains 71 pictures, all JPG with resolution of 2816x2112, 24bits color depth. Their average size is 2.2MB. I also tried with smaller files. Unfortunately, it keeps crashing :(

Regards,

Miroslav

Problem solved!

Hemut, hello again,

so I solved the problem at last. It was my mistake all the time - I was using SEQUENCE CONVERT (CTRL+N) instead of BATCH CONVERT (CTRL+U). The batch convert command works perfectly and does what I want :D

Anyway, although I don't need it, the sequence convert command crashes when applying transformations.

So thank you once again!

Miroslav

Good to read that Batch convert does work for you, too. :-)

Normally, I don't use sequence convert. I've just tried to reproduce your problem but again not luck: Sequence convert converted 100 JPG files without problem.

I can't reproduce your crash on sequence convert, which params do you use?
