Xnview deluxe is(was) an enhanced version of xnview. It is now discontinued however, and most of it's features will be added to regular xnview.
In short, just ignore xnview deluxe.

Hello largwy,
I have to contradict the previous posters in some respects: XnView DeLuxe still offers more functionality in various areas which might be interesting for some users. Please find more info in the FAQ "
What is XnView DeLuxe?.
However, it is true that XnView DeLuxe is discontinued.
Note: I've deleted your duplicate topic in Spanish(?), Portuguese(?), ...

As I said helmut, most of it's features will be added to xnview (ie, aren't already added).
The reason I said the person should ignore deluxe is because it'd be pretty pointless to go and pay for the program when A) it'll never be updated again and B) pierre has stated that he's going to add it's features to regular xnview. I don't know about you, but I'd be rather ticked if I forked out cash for a prog, just to find out that I could have gotten it all for free by waiting a few months. At the same time, the trial period is also rather pointless. Why bother installing a program if you already know for certain that you're just going to stop using it in 30 days?
Yes, deluxe does still have some advantages over regular xnview, but the things I pointed out above make it a waste of time. If you really want the extra functionallity, you're better off just duplicating it with other freeware programs. There are a number of progs that can browse images in zip files (cdisplay is a good one), image analyzer and photofiltre can give you the export/preview options that deluxe has, there's a tiny little prog called SendToFTP which lets you easily FTP any file/s from your computer to a website with just a couple clicks (can even be used from the open or save as dialogs within another program), and I'm certain there are progs to duplicate any other features deluxe has. In short, there's really no reason to get deluxe except for pure curiosity.

Drahken, I fully agree when assuming that you have to pay for XnView DeLuxe. I wonder how much longer people will have to pay for XnView DeLuxe (I think until now noone has posed this risen, might be a very difficult one for Xzeos and/or Pierre.).
Using a tool which is free but not updated can be still o.k. for some people. For example I've been using
LeechFTP as ftp program for ages, but development of LeechFTP has been canceled about 6 (!) years ago.

I doubt that xnview deluxe will be made free. I think Xzeos will just maintain status quo for a while, then eventually drop it altogether. During that time, pierre will add the deluxe features into regular xnview, thereby giving us (essentially) a free but continually updated version of deluxe in the form of regular xnview.
If they did make deluxe free, then it would be worth going for. Barring any major issues that turn up later, having all the features in a single program would make up for the fact that it isn't updated.
Of course, if the deluxe features do get added into regular xnview, then xnview 2.0 (or whatever version it winds up being at that point) will actually be xnview deluxe 2.5 (or whatever).

Right thoughts. Let's see what Xzeos and Pierre will do and can do.
