suggestion on thumbnailing images

imagine that you want to browse with XnView folder with 5000 images in it. what happens? XnView is starting to generate thumbnail for every image. but while doing that XnView becomes practically unuseable because thumbnail generating is CPU consuming task. now you have two options: 1) wait a few minutes while XnView finishes thumbnailing every image and then continue browsing the folder 2) cancel thumbnailing process by pressing ESC key. since i don't like getting bored i usually select the second option. but in this case the result is not satisfying. for most of these 5000 images were not thumbnailed. if you want to see thumbnails of these images you have to hit F5 i.e. refresh window. but then you encounter with the same problems as in the beginning. from this follows the suggestion:
why not make image thumbnailing 'dynamic'? by 'dynamic' i mean thumbnailing only those images you currently see in the thumbnail window, not all images in the folder you are currently browsing. any image s you do not see currently are being thumbnailed only when they appear in the thumbnails window. of course you can make an option of pre-thumbnailing some amount of images i.e. to thumbnail specific amount of images before and after the images you currently see in the thumbnails window.
