How can I take a screenshot of a video I have, just the screenshot of the vid nothing else

You need either Media Player Classic or VideoLAN Client, it's not easy for an app to do this.

i have videoLan but how can i get pics from there? open capture device? how does this pic thing work?

The default shortcut to take a snapshot is ALT+CTRL+s.
To change the shortcut go to: Settings - Preferences - Interface - Hotkeys Settings.
