hmm...
@all:
i always asked myself, "why would someone uncheck this option?"
IMHO users want to see all possible bits of an image, even if the file is corrupt or broken.
so for what cases should i uncheck this?

I think that if a file has an error, it's important to know, no??

What about dialog?

Yes, a message box would be good. For those who don't want to see the message box a checkbox "Don't show this message again" might be useful. (Personally I think that users should be always informed if an image is damaged -> no checkbox.)

Yes, same as dialog that image has more than 1 frame, but maybe a bit less annoying way to inform should be find...
What about checkbox (for all such dialogs) "Don't show this message 'till I close xnview*'"
It would be useful when viewing multipage icons or folder with many corrupted images.
