Transporting WordPerfect 8 documents into Open Office

I have just installed Open Office 2.01 and can successfully convert Corel WordPerfect documents into Writer but the Wp graphics do not convert over. I am running Windows 98SE and have Wp Suite 8, build 8.0.0.710 loaded on my PC. I create most of my documents in WordPerfect and install graphics from the Corel Wp Suite 8 CD, which contains clip art with wpg file extensions.
I have also downloaded and installed XnView version 1.82.3 but haven’t figured out how it can help me convert WordPerfect documents plus their graphics over to Open Office. Do I need to install additional components of XnView, such as GFL/SDK, etc.? At this time, it appears that I can transport text from Wp to Open Office with no problems. It is the graphics from WordPerfect with file extensions of wpg that do not automatically transport. For now, I have to copy and paste each graphic into Open Office on a one-by-one basis. Any suggestions?.
Merci, Pierre for a high quality viewer and converter. I plan to use the slide show feature for some photos on the Appalachian Trail.
