EXIF and JPEG 2000

Hi all,
To my knowledge, the jpeg 2000 format supports exif information.
However, when saving a picture in Jpeg 2000 format (whichever of those available), xnview warns that the exif information will be lost.
Is this a limitation of xnview or am I just misusing the program?
