WMF files do not render

I tried using the browser (thumbnail view) on WMF files (e.g. MS Office clipart folders) and after a couple of folders, the thumbnails on other folders failed to render. Not sure if this is a Win98 limitation or not since I've seen these behavior too on other thumbnail applications.
