Cannot open CXI file format

I have been given image files produced as an output from a scientific instrument named as *.CXI.

The image files seem to be impossible to open by any software application other than that which controls the instrument. However the instrument software application will only run if there if the instrument is attached to the computer, and I need to be able to view these files on other computers.

I have tried to open the files using XnView but no joy. Is there any setting I can change that will enable the files to be opened and viewed?

I was hoping that this program would be the one that would be able to view these files instantly but no joy.

If anyone wants to try and find away to view these image files, I can email some of the image files to you as they are quite small (<300K)

Thanks in advance.

To Pierre…

:) Hello, welcome aboard !

- Indeed, this format is not supported at all, and I guess that you might send a sample to Pierre, our Dear Author to :
webmasterATxnviewDOTcom

- I would bet that Pierre has a full HD of 5-legged-sheeps like this ! :D

- However - except a good luck - it's generally very hard to parse, because these formats are closed, I mean they are "owner's format" and not documented…

- Did you try to rename the files as the most current extensions ? I guess that you might do with copies, i.e. as usual formats (bitmaps and derived) and too as usual vector-formats…

 Kind regards,
Claude
