Useless "Auto image size" options

I'm tired of unuseful "AutoImageSize" options and window sizing/positioning problems with XnView 1.68.1 for Linux (this happens since my first XnView version for Linux).
See these images to understand what I mean:

They are low-quality JPGs (around 60 ~70 KB each) to faster view for slow internet connections. They are screenshots just after double-clicking on second image at browser window. Each of them show one different "Auto image size" option.
As you see, no option is useful. I don't know why XnView does not allow me to have maximized viewer (INSIDE screen, and not off-screen).
Just one thing: "xv" does display maximized window with image resized to best fit. But "xv" isn't as good as XnView.
I'm using Slackware 9.0, XFree86 4.3.0, fluxbox 0.1.14 (window manager).
