Do not load very large image files in browser

Hi!

I have a couple of files (a 800mb Jpg file among those) that would give any thumbnail generation process a major lockup, as it does on XnView, not allowing me to do anything else until the file has been totally read and the thumbnail generated. I also noticed that some image formats (HDR for instance) are too slow to read even on moderate sizes like 2500x1500 px. What I am suggesting is a "don't automatically read" size threshold for each file type, configurable in the options. This way you can continue browsing without having an occassional huge file lock up your system for minutes at a time.

The way this would work is the huge files would have a generic icon displayed in their thumbnail view. The user should have the option to eventually display these thumbnails if he wants to, on a per folder, or per session basis. If the user clicks on the huge image, or double-clicks it, a non-intrusive warning should appear, possibly a button that when pressed will allow the reading of the image file, much like the windows explorer HTML warning when trying to access the system folders.

Thanks for reading this and keep up the excellent work!

What about this:

Options > Browser > Items displayed > "Files smaller than"?
