In browser: Shortcuts files don't work [ .LNK files ]. Can this be fixed?

Try changing Browser>Open Action>All Other files to "Open in Associated Program". Shortcuts work for me.

i hav it set like that but doesn't work...

Options>Browser>Thumbnail>'Show thumbnail for file shortcut' is on?

Are you sure it's file shortcut? Folder shortcuts don't work perfect. They are opened in explorer, not in xnview, but file shortcuts work here too.

Folder shortcuts don't work at all if I don't use this option:

"Browser>Open Action>All Other files to "Open in Associated Program"".

yup it doesnt work for file shortcuts ... made a shortcut for a text file and doesn't open when double clicking in xnview browser

And a shortcut for picture file?

• Here, a *.LNK for a *.TXT files shows the text in the Preview area when in thumb-nails, but does not open the default editor,
- A *.LNK for an image file opens the pic as Preview with a single click, and in “View” (main window) with a double click.

For me, LNK for txt is opened on associated program correctly

Did you test under XP ? Here : XP-PRO SP1…

For me, LNK for images work only when i specify they work with XnView. All other LNK doesn't work.

I tried txt shortcut, result:

Open action > All other files > Open in associated program = works good.

Open action > All other files > Open in xnview = crash without any dialog!

Edit: Strange, 3 times crash and now it works good.

Also strange, that txt file can be opened in xnview, but this option is missing in Open action > Text files.

so it this on its way to being fixed yet?
