File/Open in which mode??
And what do you means by 'illegal activity'???
Open:
- ordinar "open" or "hex" fails
- Via "browser" or "Recent files" works

"illegal activity"

This is a "windows" internal error message (you will have it en Francais
probablement  )

XN 1.82.4 never (almost ?) generates this, think you get this problem in
1.90 fixed during alpha or beta developement :)

Yes, I mean "File" -> "Open", "File" -> "Open in Hex mode", CTL-O, CTL-H,
and the direct "Open" (having many possible symbols available) button
(supposed to display the directory) do not work.

Images are accessible only via "browser" or "recent files" (bypassing
the directory).

I have the same problem. Ctl-O doesn't work. I am using Win98SE (which I don't think is relevant).

CTL-O does not work only or all other methods I mentioned also ?

It probably IS relevant ... since I have same bug on same :bug:

I updated to the new Alpha ... bug persists :bug:

Neither Ctrl-O nor File/Open works. If I double click on a graphics file it works fine. I have tried removing all extraneous programs with no effect. No problems with 1.82.4.

Bug fixed ?

Bug no longer occurs. 8) Did you fix it in the Alpha 2 or 3 version ?
But I am on a different PC now.
