When the file extension have more than 3 characters xnview refresh the thumbnails constantly (the thumbnails blinks). It does not happen with auto-refresh disabled.

edit: The length of file extensions in rename dialog are limited to 8 characters, not sure if that suppose to happen.

Could you explain me more, please. I have a file with 4 characters in extension, but nothing happened...

I have some files with the extension ".pspimage" (paint shop pro image file). When there is at least one file with an extension length larger than 3 characters the thumbnails keep flickering because XnView is constantly refreshing the thumbnails.

It stops if I rename from .pspimage to .psp.

Very strange, i can't reproduce this bug.
Do you are in thumbnail mode? Could you send me the file?

OK here

yes, I'm in thumbnail mode. Just did some testing with alpha 2 it is still happening.

But now I realize that this is not happening because of the file extension, it was stopping (but not always) after I renamed the file to .psp, it happens even with no images inside the folder ("My Images", "Minhas imagens" in portuguese). The full path to this folder is "E:\ChRoNoN\Minhas Imagens". It is not the default folder for user's' "my documents" folder ("Meus Documentos" in portuguese). It is also on a exclusive harddrive.

An off-topic question cache_thumb.db is now the xnview cache for that specific folder?

Regards,
sérgio

edit: Also, not sure how to reproduce it, my harddrives and dvdrom/ram get several duplicates entrys under "My Computer". It happens most of time when I switching from my computer to another folder, the auto collapse is on.

Strange, and with others folders, do you have the problem?

No, only with that one.

I cannot reproduce this problem - neither with alpha 2 nor with beta 1.

Sergio - if you move your .pspimage file to another folder with images, does the thumbnail flicker, too? Could you provide us a sample image?

Could you exit Xnview, rename the xnview.ini file (which contains all settings) and then restart XnView to see whether the problem might be related with a special setting? (Later you can rename your xnview.ini file back to restore your settings).

On which Windows version does the problem occur? Do you experience this problem on other computers, too?
