Well I can't really describe this with words so I'll just attach some pictures.
This is how it currently looks in XnView:
This is how its supposed to look:
Note: This only happens with some BLP's Also, some BLP's aren't even recognized by XnView and show up in the hex viewer
Any ideas?

I sent samples of trouble files to Pierre (xnview), and he confirmed them as received in this very thread. Do you need me to send them to another address?

Please visit:
http://wow.curse-gaming.com/en/files/de ... converter/
There you will find the other tool that I'm using to view/convert BLP's, it includes source code in C++. I hope you find the information in it adequate.

Some information about the compression used in blp files can be found on
http://www.wowwiki.com/BLP_Files and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S3TC.
As far as i can see it's the files that use DXT1 compression. This format uses only 64 bits per block of 4 x 4 pixels, instead of 128 bits used by the DXT2 - 5 compression modes.
Hope this helps you to fix this bug, making this tool even better.

I am also intrested in resolving this issue, i tried several different tools for reading and converting blp files and none of them worked well , some not at all . and the result of xnview with doubled images with stripes and a messed up colour layout is not satisfying either
