hi!

i was just thinking about few features that may require little time to implement and may fit many users whishes:

- browsing folders with thousands of pictures may require a lot of time for header-scanning, so would be nice to have an option to enable header-scanning only when a file is selected or to disable it at all.

- have an option about saving preferences: now, on exit, never. that would be nice when someone prefers to have fixed preferences.

;)

For all I know, you can disable header scanning by simply switching to view 'Icons' or view 'List' (menu 'View->View as->Icons' or 'F9' key).
But I assume that you do not want to switch between the views all the time. Perhaps an option 'Do not show thumbnails if more than xxx files in folder' would help. Just an idea, perhaps there's better ways...

Sounds like a good suggestion to me. But rather than three radio buttons I think that there should be two radio buttons
(o) Save options on exit
( ) Never save options
and a 'Save options now' button.

the only view that do not header-scanning is F11, while my favourite is detailed view (F10), so i renew my request to Pierre for such feature :)

about options saving you're absolutely right! if it will be done that way would be great! ;)
