Rotation differs between thumbnail and real picture

Hi,
Just switched from an old version of ACDSee to XnView.
However, I have some trouble with rotated JPEGs, maybe someone here could help me?
JPEGs that I rotated within ACDSee but which contain an EXIF information appear unrotated within the XnView thumbnail display. The preview and the full screen view show the real picture (rotated, as it is).
It seems that ACDSee did not interpret and change the EXIF information and now this information does not match the real rotation / orientation of the picture, so XnView cannot display the thumbnail correctly.
How can I correct this?
I tried rotating the JPEGs within XnView, but it also rotates the preview, so the difference between the real picture and the preview remains (but both rotated 90 degrees)...
Thanks in advance
and best regards
Mark
