Hello, I took some Jpeg pictures with my camera and then cutted the image with XnView (100% qualitiy), but the file is bigger now (Original 3,46MB, now 429MB) and I don´t know why.
Can somepne please help me? I also searched for this problem in the forum but didn´t get an answer.

Check this.
Summary: at 100% the compression ratio is much lower than what was used in the camera... and although you don't add information by doing so you actually lose less than if you used a similar compression ratio.
A better choice could be to try Tools>Lossless JPEG cropping (beware: its applied immediately... so work on a copy first!). You could also use a lower quality if you care about filesize.

OK, thank you for your answer. I will better go on with 100% compression, because I do not want to risk anythink.

Then, my advise is to keep the original file unmodified and stored safely and work only on copies. I do this routinely for all my photos.Photograph wrote:I do not want to risk anythink.
