Hello,
After using quite a lot XnView I will propose you some smalls but usefull improvements :
1) When the option "Camera RAW" in reading mode is set "High Quality" and we are selecting somes thumbnails (Ctrl+Left Click) for do (cut/paste/delete/move/etc...) the small preview of the current thumbnail take VERY long time to be previewed (undecode RAW file). My propose is :
1a) When you are multiselecting thumbnails only do the preview of the first thumbnail selected. Doing that, XnView don't need to undecode each new selected thumbnail -> mean faster for the selecting
1b) For the mini preview of the thumbnail, why don't use directly the embeded jpeg in the RAW (if exist) instead of decode the RAW. Doing that it will accelerate the small preview
2) The histogram in the mini preview thumbnail must be calculate with the preview jpeg (if exist) inside the RAW file that will boost the refresh of histogram view.
3) I discover the very usefull grid, but could you please add some setting like divise the image horizontal/vertical by N. Actually the grid is set by absolute pixel, I suggest to set propotional grid. Like 3 rows verticale/horizontal -> that will be VERY usefull to verify if the image respect the 2/3 photography rules. CF BB do it. I propose to you to add a checkbox indicating ig value correspond in pixel or percent subdivision.
4) Could we have a simulate visor grid in image view and also the selected AF used for focus ? That will great ! This option will depend on EXIF data and camera model. BB do it.
5) Could you let user to add EXIF info or histogram view in image view (decoded) like a column or a floating windows (please NOT MODAL WINDOWS to let user change image). Actually we only see this info in the thumbnails view -> that's a pity!
6) Are you sure than XnView preload the next picture (decoding RAW in advance) to accelerate the preview ? It's don't look to be very fast... Could you also keep in memory the last picture decoded ? Because when we are selecting the best picture between 2 or 3 sequentials shots we go forward and reward some times before to choose the best picture (and delete other). If all picture are already in memory this process will very fast.
Thank you for your comment.
